Hospitality and Hotel Management
Develop practical skills across hospitality, business and management, with pathways into international study and service industries.
Overview
Great hotels are remembered for the way they make people feel. Behind every one is a leader who understands both the art of hospitality and the business that sustains it. This programme prepares you to be that leader.
It is a programme for those who love to delight people and want to lead: managing food and beverage, accommodation and events, guiding teams, and building hospitality businesses of their own.
Your journey begins with a year at KCIC, Chennai, studying the nationally recognised Australian Diploma of Hospitality Management. Service excellence, operations, finance, people and compliance form your foundation.
Then, two years in Sydney, one of the world’s great hospitality cities, at TAFE NSW Ultimo. You enter the second year of the Bachelor of Business, studying hotel operations, events, marketing and yield management, entrepreneurship, leadership and strategy, with 300 hours of professional placement in the industry itself.
You graduate with a Bachelor of Business specialising in Hospitality and Hotel Management, ready for leadership roles around the world.
The TAFE NSW Way
Where hospitality is learnt in the industry, not only about it.
TAFE NSW is recognised for its practical approach and its extensive industry networks. Small class sizes, a personalised approach, and caring, professional teachers support you throughout.
At the heart of the degree is professional placement. Over your two years in Sydney, you complete at least 300 hours of work placement, 150 hours each year, arranged by TAFE NSW with suitable industry employers. You respond to real situations that no classroom can replicate, across all areas of the industry.
Here, you graduate with a degree and a network.
