Laws
Begin with a Pearson BTEC HND in Business in Chennai, then progress into the final year of a bachelor's degree overseas.
Overview
Law shapes every society, every enterprise and every life. This programme prepares you to shape it in return.
It is a degree for those who want to understand how justice works and to practise it: advising, negotiating, resolving disputes, drafting the rules others live by, and creating real change.
Your journey begins with a year at KCIC, Chennai, earning a UK-regulated Higher National Certificate in Business. Markets, people, leadership, accounting and business law give you the commercial understanding that every great lawyer needs.
From your second semester, the classroom extends into the professional world. Two days of study. Three days within an organisation.
Then, three and a half years in Sydney at UTS, ranked eighth in Australia for Law and Legal Studies in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026. You study the full body of Australian law, choose your own specialisms, and may complete Practical Legal Training within your degree, meeting the requirements for admission as a lawyer in New South Wales.
You graduate with the full Bachelor of Laws from the University of Technology Sydney, one of Sydney’s leading law degrees.
The UTS Way
Where law is learnt in practice.
At UTS, law is taught through interactive seminars and practical workshops, with moot courts where you argue cases as advocates do. Employers value UTS graduates for their problem-solving, collaboration and lateral thinking.
UTS was the first university in Sydney to offer Practical Legal Training as part of the law degree, so you can complete the requirements to become a practising lawyer in New South Wales with a single degree.
Beyond the classroom: in-house legal counsel experiences, legal centres and firms, summer clerkships, and opportunities to study law abroad.
Here, law is not only studied. It is practised.
