Program Overview
A computing graduate in Chennai may use the same programming languages and tools as a professional in Sydney, London, Dublin or Auckland. What changes is not the code—it is the salary, career opportunity and life built around it.
India produces a million computing graduates each year, creating intense competition for entry-level roles. Overseas, employers seek specialists in cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, data analytics, artificial intelligence and software development. Our BTEC Diploma in Computing prepares you for this global market.
During the two-year programme in Chennai, you will learn through assignments, industry projects and applied problem-solving. You will build a professional portfolio and gain the confidence needed for university progression and international technology careers.
KCIC also makes studying abroad financially achievable. By completing two years in Chennai, you reduce the overseas tuition fees and living expenses you would otherwise pay from the beginning. You can then progress through KCIC’s articulation pathways to an eligible advanced or final stage of a bachelor’s degree in Australia, the UK or New Zealand.
The earning potential can transform your future. Graduate IT and software roles in Australia may offer approximately AUD 70,000 to AUD 85,000 per year. With experience and expertise in cybersecurity, cloud, AI, data or financial technology, professionals may progress towards AUD 110,000 to AUD 200,000 or more, depending on the employer, role and location.
Now imagine working in Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, London or Dublin, earning in an international economy and enjoying a healthier work–life balance. Beyond your career, you could build a secure life for your family, with access to high-quality healthcare, respected public education and safe communities, subject to eligibility and residency conditions.
This is more than finding a job overseas. It is about financial independence, long-term security and raising your future family in an environment filled with opportunity.
Do not enter a crowded graduate market without a plan. Choose a pathway connecting your talent to an international degree, global earnings and a secure future abroad.
Salary figures are indicative and vary by experience, employer, specialisation and location.
Further studies / Careers
After completing the two-year international diploma, you can progress through a lateral-entry pathway into Years 3 and 4 of a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Australia, or receive equivalent advanced entry into an eligible technology/engineering degree in the UK, Australia, New Zealand through guaranteed articulation agreements with KCIC and partner universities including RMIT University, UTS, University of Newcastle, Heriot-Watt university, University of Essex, Ulster University, and many more.
Entry Criteria
Applicants must be at least 17 years old at the time of enrolment. Applicants must have completed Grade 12 (10+2) or an equivalent qualification. Must have cleared/achieved at least 70% in Mathematics. English score should not be less than 70% or equivalent at grade 12.
Study Journey from KCIC to Study Abroad
You'll build strong computing foundations alongside industry-relevant technical skills, developing core capabilities in programming, discrete mathematics, data structures, databases, and computer systems. The program builds coding fluency, algorithmic thinking, and structured problem-solving — using industry-standard tools such as Python, Java, SQL, Git, Linux, and VS Code — preparing you to operate effectively in modern, technology-driven computing environments.
Select your specialisation and progress into advanced, industry-aligned study. The program offers five pathways: Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and Cybersecurity. Students deepen technical expertise within their chosen field, apply principles to complex computing problems, and build the critical evaluation, design, and decision-making skills needed to transition into Year 3 abroad — where specialised laboratories, research infrastructure, and industry-facing projects take centre stage.
Based on your chosen specialisation and university, you transfer abroad together as a cohort, ensuring a supported transition with familiar peers and consistent academic progression. Year 3 shifts learning from theory to application, with access to advanced laboratories — AI and robotics labs, cybersecurity suites, software engineering studios, high-performance computing clusters, and industry-facing project environments — at RMIT, UTS, Heriot-Watt, and Ulster.
In your final year, you undertake major capstone projects, research-led development, and industry-embedded placements, applying computing principles to real-world challenges across AI, cybersecurity, software systems, and data science. You work with industry-standard platforms such as TensorFlow, AWS, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, and Agile frameworks — building the expertise expected of graduate computing professionals entering global industry.
Upon graduation, students receive a full international degree and are eligible for an 18–24 month post-study work visa, allowing them to stay and seek employment. This visa permits full-time work and does not require employer sponsorship.
Accreditation

The Diploma you study at KCIC is regulated by the UK's Ofqual and mapped directly to India's National Credit Framework (NCrF) at Levels 4 and 4.5. Upon transferring, your final degree completed at our international partner university campuses is fully accredited by elite professional bodies, including the British Computer Society (BCS) and the Australian Computer Society (ACS). Furthermore, under the landmark Mutual Recognition of Qualifications agreement signed between India, Australia, and the UK, your international degree carries full legal recognition back home in India.
Exemptions
Your Diploma gives you direct credit exemptions of up to 2 years toward a BTech/BEng (Hons) degree in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Malaysia, allowing you to step straight into the final two years of your degree. For the USA, Canada, Ireland, and 50+ other countries, your diploma modules qualify for substantial credit transfers, allowing you to bypass foundational subjects, fast-track your BS, BTech or BEng degree, and graduate significantly faster while saving on global tuition fees.
Industry Collaboration
Don't just get a qualification—learn the exact skills global tech employers are searching for.Built on a rigorous 'designed by employers, for employers' blueprint, this program bridges the gap between the classroom and the global workforce. By embedding structural insights from massive infrastructure and cloud innovators like AWS, Cisco, Fujitsu, and Lockheed Martin, alongside standard-setting certification bodies like CompTIA, ISC2, and the BCS (The Chartered Institute for IT), Pearson Education ensures your training mirrors real-world deployment. This powerhouse combination gives you an immediate competitive edge in the international job market.
