Program Overview
Delivered in collaboration with Ulster University and the University of Technology Sydney, this program offers a structured international transfer pathway towards a globally recognised Bachelor's degree in Artificial Intelligence.
The pathway begins with a question worth considering: why pay a full first-year international fee abroad when much of that year revisits foundational concepts? KCIC addresses this by delivering the first two years in Chennai, allowing students to transfer abroad for Year 3 and Year 4 — reducing overall program cost by up to 60% without compromising the final degree outcome.
In Year 2, students select their destination — the UK or Australia — shaping their academic direction as their interests evolve. Theoretical foundations are taught in India, while advanced AI laboratories, research infrastructure, and industry-partnered projects take place abroad at the stage when hands-on exposure matters most.
AI degrees are recognised internationally under the Seoul Accord, with ACS (Australia) and BCS (UK) as founding signatories since 2008 — ensuring professional mobility across signatory nations.
Further studies / Careers
Eligibility requires completion of 10+2 from any recognised national or international board with a minimum of 70% aggregate, including English language proficiency. After submitting the application, students may be required to attend a personal interview or aptitude test evaluating academic readiness and suitability for the Artificial Intelligence pathway.
Entry Criteria
Graduates can progress to an MSc in Artificial Intelligence at Ulster University (UK) or UTS (Australia), completable within one to 1.5 years in specialised streams covering machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, and natural language processing. High-performing Ulster BEng (Hons) graduates may apply directly for PhD study. Career pathways include AI Analyst, Machine Learning Engineer, Data Scientist, and Computer Vision Engineer — across finance, healthcare, manufacturing, and technology sectors globally.
Study Journey from KCIC to Study Abroad
You'll build strong AI and computing foundations alongside industry-relevant technical skills. The programme develops core capabilities in engineering mathematics, software development, computer hardware, database systems, and AI fundamentals — using programming languages including Python — preparing you to analyse problems, reason solutions, and apply AI techniques in practical, technology-driven environments.
Build on your foundations with advanced, industry-aligned AI study. The program deepens expertise in algorithms and data structures, machine learning, object-oriented programming, AI techniques, computer networks, and professional practice — developing the critical analysis, problem-solving, and technical decision-making skills needed to transfer into Years 3 and 4 abroad, where specialist AI laboratories, research infrastructure, and real-world application take centre stage.
You transfer to your chosen university as a cohort, with familiar peers and supported transition. At Ulster (UK), Year 3 is a paid industrial placement — minimum 25 weeks — working within the computing or AI industry, earning a Diploma in Professional Practice and building real-world experience before your final year. At UTS (Australia), you enter directly into the final year on campus in Sydney, accessing world-class AI labs, the Tech Lab facility, and industry-partnered capstone projects.
In your final year, you undertake a major capstone project and research-led AI development, applying intelligent systems principles to real-world challenges across robotics, computer vision, cybersecurity, and deep learning — using industry-standard tools including Python, TensorFlow, and PyTorch — building the expertise expected of graduate AI professionals entering global industry.
Upon graduation, students receive a full international degree and are eligible for an 18–24 month post-study work visa, allowing them to stay and seek employment. This visa permits full-time work and does not require employer sponsorship.
Accreditation

AI degrees from our partner universities are recognised internationally under the Seoul Accord — the global mutual recognition agreement for computing and IT qualifications. ACS (Australia) and BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT (UK), are both founding signatories since 2008, ensuring graduate qualifications are respected across member nations including Australia, UK, USA, Canada, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Ireland, and Malaysia. UTS graduates are eligible for ACS professional membership; Ulster graduates for BCS membership on behalf of the UK Engineering Council.
Exemptions
On completion of the Bachelor's degree, students may apply for professional membership with recognised computing bodies. UTS graduates are eligible for professional-level membership of the Australian Computer Society (ACS). Ulster University BEng (Hons) graduates, whose programme is delivered by a faculty affiliated with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, may pursue BCS membership — a pathway towards Chartered IT Professional (CITP) status in the UK and internationally.
Industry Collaboration
Ulster University maintains strong industry collaborations through partnerships with BT via the BT Ireland Innovation Centre and PwC via the Advanced Research Centre, embedding real-world AI projects into study. UTS integrates industry-partnered capstone projects across a network of over 1,000 partners, offering students live challenges, internships, and hackathons — ensuring career-ready skills aligned with global AI industry expectations.
