The Pearson BTEC HND in Journalism is equivalent to completing the second year of a university bachelor’s degree or an associate degree abroad. HND Journalism is an 18-month program that involves intensive coursework. Completing an HND at KCIC enables you to directly enter the final year of a BA (Hons) in Journalism at Ulster University’s Belfast, UK campus to earn a full bachelor’s degree alongside the HND.

Journalism (Year 1)
Completing the HND in Journalism certification is equivalent to finishing the second year of a bachelor’s or associate degree program abroad. In year one, you will complete eight Journalism modules. Pearson, BBC, LionTV, and RelayFM designed and developed the program in the UK.
Journalism (Year 2)
During their second year, students will engage in practical coursework and collaborate with regional news channels to produce news content. Further, students can directly enter the final year of a BA (Hons) in Journalism at Ulster University’s Belfast campus.
BA (Hons) Journalism - UK Transfer
After finishing the HND program, you can join the final year (lateral entry) of the BA (Hons) in Journalism program at Ulster University in Belfast, UK Campus. This leads to a full UK degree in addition to your HND award. KCIC has an agreement with Ulster University to help with the transfer
