MSc Smart Manufacturing Systems seeks to provide develop the human resources to provide pathways to develop innovative products and manufacturing processes allowing existing companies to increase productivity and establish new business by remaining competitive through the use of the emerging digital and smart manufacturing technologies in their operations.

This programme of study is firmly based under the STEM umbrella and additionally due to the nature of the skills and knowledge developed during the programme, resulting graduates will have the potential to be employed across a spectrum of industries which will address the skills shortage in smart manufacturing capabilities.

Students from this course would be eligible to directly enter graduate employment or proceed to further study at PhD level. CONSIDERATIONS FOR WEARABLES AND IMPLANTS
Additive manufacturing systems are already forcing systems designers, manufacturers, and scientists to rethink how they create new systems and develop advanced materials for futuristic products. The medical implant and wearable fields are no exception. What use to be confined to dental models and other body models has now expanded to devices like hearing aids, orthopedic and cranial implants, surgical instruments, dental restorations, and external prosthetics.

Wearable devices and some implants, especially those intended for real-time monitoring of chronic health conditions, require a flexible electronics platform that is biocompatible and compact enough to fit in the human body. 3D printing of medical devices will soon span beyond body models and prosthetics as more advanced electronic materials and additive manufacturing platforms become available. This enables the creation of unique electronic medical implants and other devices from a broad range of biocompatible materials

3G (third generation) technology attracted the attention of mobile phone operators, who spent $130 billion in Europe to acquire 3G spectrum licenses in 2000. 3G became popular as it offered operators cost effectiveness in providing services for users. Vodafone joined the race to launch 3G technology by focusing on providing content services to users. The company launched a £15 million advertising campaign to promote its content services and to boost subscription rates. But with several other mobile phone operators also following a similar strategy, analysts are sceptical about the company’s ability to recover the investment made on the spectrum license and on the promotion of 3G.

    First, two years at Chennai campus is limited to 20-25 students per class. Every year we plan to recruit 250 to 300 students across all departments giving them the assured transfer to Melbourne campus. However, the final years at the Melbourne campus gives you the multicultural environment with 81,000 students studying across the RMIT.

    Kings Cornerstone will provide fundamental tools and equipment required for the first two years. The first two years at Kings Cornerstone is a solid foundation to advanced learning at RMIT Melbourne. Since the final years are planned in Melbourne, the facilities provided to students are world-class. They access the same materials, tools, technology what is currently used in the industry.

    Most students enrol in our programs seeking a continuing career in their preferred field. The return on investment is very high if you chose to work in Melbourne, London, Toronto and Dublin when compared to the salaries paid in India. So, we recommend students seeking global career to enrol. If you are looking to return to India or seeking local placements or local jobs, then you don’t need to study at Kings Cornerstone or take study abroad route, there are plenty on good local institutions in India who can help.

    We are looking for a passionate learner willing to study realistically, apply reasoning and ability to learn by doing, but not someone who can memorise and write the whole book without practised knowledge. Hence, your higher secondary results do not make any weight in the selection process, except for your functional abilities. Your entry to our programs depends on your statement of purpose and a personal interview with the academic board but not your higher secondary marks. So plan well for your admission interview and rationalising SOP.
