Eligibility Criteria for the Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computing

1. Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must have completed Grade 10 (or equivalent) from a recognised board or educational institution.
  • Students with prior exposure to Information Technology or related subjects are encourages to apply.

2. Minimum Academic Requirements

  • A minimum aggregate score of 60% in Grade 10, particularly in Mathematics or Science, is recommended.

3. English Proficiency

  • Students who have completed Grade 10 in an English-medium school may have the English proficiency requirement waived.
  • For applicants from non-English-medium schools, proof of English proficiency, such as an IELTS score of at least 5.5 or an equivalent qualification, may be necessary.

4. Age Requirement

  • Applicants must be at least 15 years old at the time of enrolment.

5. Passion for a Career in Technology and IT

  • While not mandatory, candidates should demonstrate a genuine interest in Information Technology or related fields. The programme is designed to nurture essential skills for further studies or careers in IT.

CONVERT TO A DEGREE

Converting an HND in Computing to a BEng (Hons), B. Tech or BSc in Computing is straight forward for students who have completed 240 credits in their HND. By fulfilling specific module requirements set by the transfer university, students can smoothly move into the final year or remaining two years of a four-year B.Tech/BEng (Hons) programme.
