Our Civil Engineering course is recently updated to suit current industry standards and is recognized by Institution of Civil Engineers - UK, Institution of Structural Engineers and Chartered Institution of Highways and Transport and Institute of Highway Engineers. This course is also accredited by vendors such as Autodesk and Bentley, enabling students to obtain certification from these vendors upon completion of associated units. The primarily focus of HND Civil Engineering is to prepare job ready civil engineers who can perform the job from day one upon graduating.
Brief Overview of the Program
BTEC (Business & Technology Education Council - UK) Higher National Diploma (HND) in Civil Engineering is a work-related (job specific) qualification for students who desire to take their first steps into employment or are looking to gain a lateral entry into Civil Engineering degree programs offered by Universities in the US, Canada, the UK, Europe and Australia. There are more than 1,000 university campuses in 100 countries that provide lateral admission for the final year of a Construction Management Degree Program.
BTEC HND in Civil Engineering at Cornerstone offers guaranteed progression/lateral entry/advanced entry onto year 3 of a degree program offered by our partner universities abroad; arrangement is in place with the University of Sunderland, University of Hertfordshire in the UK. RMIT University in Australia also offers lateral/advanced entry onto their associated degree in Civil Engineering major.

Cornerstone’s BTEC HND in Civil Engineering was created in collaboration with a broad range of organizations such as Cundall International, Vinci Construction, Arup, Bentley and Autodesk and higher education providers such as UCL, London South Bank University as well as subject experts from Leeds College of Building, to ensure that it meets their needs and expectations.
Our module includes management techniques for construction practice, mathematics for construction, drawing, detailing, specification, physics for civil engineering, structural design, surveying, measuring, alternative energy, technology for civil engineering, geotechnics, soil mechanics, advanced math for construction, alternative methods for construction, hydraulics, highway engineering, energy systems design and installation, building modeling and construction data management.
